Maximizing Life With A Disability Program

Motivational speaker Scott Chesney will present "Maximizing Life with Disability" to the public. Chesney was paralyzed by a spinal stroke at age 15. Despite his disability, he has traveled the world, married and started a family, grown his business and skydived - all from the seat of his wheelchair. Do you know what to do if someone is having a stroke? Take the FAST Test.

Face:Look at their face and ask the person to smile. Does their face seem uneven?

Arm:Ask the person to raise both arms. Are they unable to hold one arm up?

Speech: Ask the person to repeat a simple phrase. Does their speech seem slurred, are they unable to speak or is it hard to understand them?

Time: If the person has any of these symptoms, even if they go away, it is time to call 911!

On February 5, 2013, the Delaware Surgery Center was notified by the American College of Surgeons that the facility was granted “Full Approval” and will be officially recognized as an “American College of Surgeons Outpatient Accredited Bariatric Center.”  The nursing and administrative staff of this facility has spent countless hours of preparation and hard work to obtain this designation, and they deserve credit for a job well done.

One of the free-standing surgery centers that is serviced by ASPA is the Glasgow Surgery Center. ASPA has associated with the Glasgow Surgery Center for more than a decade, during which we have provided exclusive anesthesia services. We collaborate closely with the facility to provide safe, efficient, excellence in anesthesia care that is patient-centered and convenient for the community.
